History of Dynacord

Dynacord was founded in 1945 in Pilsting, Bavaria, Germany, by Werner Pinternagel. The company began as a workshop for repairing radio equipment. Later, it started manufacturing audio amplifiers, and the name Dynacord became associated with radio technology and professional audio equipment.

In 1947, the company moved to Landau an der Isar, where it continued to manufacture amplifiers, including equipment for cinemas. In 1948–1949, Dynacord introduced its first mixer amplifiers, marking an important step in the development of the company’s professional audio product range.

During the 1950s, Dynacord achieved significant success. The company developed the M-series mixer amplifiers, which became popular among musicians. At the same time, exports grew rapidly, and Dynacord strengthened its position in the European professional audio market. In 1959, the company moved to Straubing, where its operations have remained closely connected with professional audio manufacturing.

Development of Professional Audio Systems

In the 1960s, Dynacord focused increasingly on the music industry. The company developed guitar amplifiers, audio signal processing equipment and mixing consoles for bands and live performance applications. This period helped Dynacord become a recognised brand among musicians, sound engineers and professional audio users.

In the 1980s, Dynacord also became known for innovative electronic and digital drum systems, while continuing to develop its core range of professional sound reinforcement equipment.

In the 1990s, Dynacord became part of Telex Communications. This created a strong technical connection between Dynacord and Electro-Voice. The cooperation between the two brands helped expand the development of powerful amplifiers, loudspeaker systems, crossovers, mixing consoles, microphones and complete sound reinforcement solutions.

Dynacord Sound Systems

Dynacord has produced a number of well-known professional sound systems, including large-format systems such as Dynacord Xa and Dynacord Cobra. These systems became known for combining compact design with high sound pressure, power and professional audio quality.

For smaller and medium-sized sound systems, Dynacord developed the PowerMate series — powered mixing consoles with built-in amplifiers. The PowerMate concept became especially popular for live sound, small venues, bands, rental companies and mobile applications.
