Electro-Voice Zx5

The ZX5 is the result of twenty years of experimentation by Electro-Voice Corporation engineers in developing high-quality, powerful, lightweight, compact loudspeakers.
The latest technological solutions, combined with many years of experience in the production and operation of loudspeakers with polypropylene enclosures, formed the basis for the development concept of a new series of loudspeakers - Electro-Voice ZX.
At the start of mass production, two models were released: ZX5-60 with a horn opening angle of 60°x60° and ZX5-90 with a horn opening angle of 90°x50°, as well as all-weather versions ZX5-60PI, ZX5-90PI.
After researching the market and customer needs, a new speaker system model with a built-in 2000 W amplifier was developed.
The ZX5 is a direct-radiation broadband speaker system with a linear frequency response and increased output.
The design of the ZX5 uses exclusively new components.
Patented ergonomic housing with improved acoustic parameters and greater operational capabilities. A high-power fifteen-inch woofer allows you to get deep, spacious, clear bass. 2" neodymium compression driver provides excellent articulation and crystal clear high-frequency sound. Built-in passive crossover with the most linear amplitude-frequency response in the frequency section.
With small body dimensions, the ZX5 speaker system has an RMS power of 600W and a maximum sound pressure level of 133dB!
The use of a new fifteen-inch woofer in combination with the above and some other technological and design innovations allows the ZX5 to be used as an independent full-range mobile acoustics system, without the use of an additional subwoofer.
The models' bodies are made of extruded shockproof polypropylene, equipped with threaded bushings (10xM8) for wall mounting and suspension, and an adapter for mounting on a tripod. Removable transport handles provide additional flexibility for wall mounting and hanging. The front panels are protected by a perforated powder-coated metal grille and mounted on an acoustically transparent porous base. The protective grilles of the all-weather loudspeakers are made of stainless steel. PI models are supplied with an input panel that provides waterproof cable connection.
The internal volume of the case is damped with sound-absorbing porous material, preventing the occurrence of unwanted acoustic resonances.
The speakers have an asymmetrical shape, which allows them to be used as a stage monitor, and retractable, fixed legs allow you to adjust the tilt angle within 45°-55°.
ZX5 is available in black and white (the all-weather PI version is in black)
Scope of application: compact mobile acoustic systems, installations (including in open spaces - all-weather versions ZX5-60PI, ZX5-90PI), "live sound", sounding of concert venues, theaters, discos, restaurants, shopping centers, sports grounds, skating rinks , stadiums, train stations, airports, conferences and presentations.
ZX5 acoustic systems were demonstrated in April at the Musikmesse - 2004 exhibition in Frankfurt. According to experts and visitors to the exhibition, the sound of the ZX5, despite its small dimensions, is powerful, bright, smooth and comfortable, conveying the sound of vocals and acoustic musical instruments as accurately as possible.
